Ever accidentally, on purpose, find your calling in life?

Well, that happened to me. I was on my way in a career doing something entirely different, when a left turn landed me in the tech industry. I didn’t set out to be a writer, but my research on profanity* (no, really) from that prior field got me in the door as a technical writer at a little company called McAfee. If I could write that well, without training or institutional supports, how far could I go with some help?

The answer is FAR! I’ve never looked back and never regretted the career switch. Being an empathetic advocate for users and establishing clear communication from the first time they come in contact with a product brings me so much joy.
